No negotiations planned

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki, has announced Iran has no plans to negotiate with the US on its nuclear issue.

Mottaki made the remark in Tehran, following his inaugural speech at a meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association for Regional Cooperation. He said Iran has no schedule for direct talks with the US and regards any benefit from nuclear technology and fuel cycles as a legitimate right. The Indian Ocean Rim defines a distinctive area in international politics consisting of coastal states bordering the Indian Ocean.
